Christof has been active as an IP litigator for almost 20 years, specializing in extensive, technically complex patent infringement disputes. With a wealth of experience particularly in electronics, mobile communications and automotive disputes, Christof is among Germany’s most knowledgeable experts on standard essential patents. He is widely recommended by his clients and ranked accordingly in international league tables (Best Lawyers, IP Stars, Legal 500, JUVE).
Christof frequently publishes in the field of intellectual property law and, among other engagements, is acting as Co-Chair of the Standing Committee on the Unitary Patent (UPC) and as a member of the Standing Committee on Enforcement at the AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property). He also regularly holds seminars at the German Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP).
Prior to co-founding Kather Augenstein, Christof worked in various positions at prominent international law firms. He holds a PhD in law from the University of Freiburg.
